PROWAVE

Meeting Room System

In a meeting room or council chamber, every participant must be heard clearly by the room and by remote attendees. Prowave meeting room systems combine discussion microphones, a central unit, DSP and room speakers, so integrators can deliver rooms that are simple to run every day.

Where it fits

  • Boardrooms and meeting rooms
  • Council chambers and parliament halls
  • Training rooms and seminar rooms
  • Courtrooms and hearing rooms
  • Hybrid meeting rooms with video conferencing

Common challenges and how to solve them

Participants too far from the microphone

Challenge. One or two table microphones cannot pick up people at both ends of a long table. Quiet speakers are lost, and loud ones dominate.

Solution. A discussion unit at each seat, or one per two seats, keeps every talker close to a microphone. Gooseneck microphones give consistent pickup, so levels stay even around the table.

Too many open microphones

Challenge. When several microphones are open at once, room noise and reverberation build up and the risk of feedback rises.

Solution. Conference control modes limit how many microphones can be open at the same time, and a chairman unit can take priority to keep the discussion orderly. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm control modes supported by the Prowave central unit]

Echo for remote participants

Challenge. In hybrid meetings, remote attendees hear echo and room noise because the room microphones pick up the far-end audio from the speakers.

Solution. The conference system feeds a DSP with acoustic echo cancellation (AEC), connected to the video conferencing codec or PC. Remote participants hear the room clearly, without their own voice coming back. [PLACEHOLDER: Prowave DSP model with AEC]

Uneven sound in the room

Challenge. One pair of speakers at the front makes the head of the table loud while people at the far end strain to hear.

Solution. Distributed ceiling speakers at low level cover the room evenly. In larger chambers, speakers built into the delegate units add close reinforcement and mute automatically when that microphone is open. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm built-in speaker auto-mute]

Complex cabling and installation

Challenge. A separate cable and mixer channel for every seat means long installation time and a crowded equipment rack.

Solution. Delegate units are daisy-chained on a trunk cable back to the central unit, reducing cabling and setup time. Adding a seat means adding a unit to the chain. [PLACEHOLDER: maximum units per chain]

Recording the meeting

Challenge. Councils and boards must keep a record of every session for minutes and audit.

Solution. A recording output from the central unit or DSP feeds a recorder or PC. Where cameras are used, the system can be linked to automatic camera tracking. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm camera tracking support]
